Pakatan may have started campaign on a wrong foot

SANDAKAN: Pakatan Rakyat’s campaign appears to be starting off on the wrong foot following a fracas over the choice of the candidate.
On Sunday night, as Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was leaving Sandakan airport a fracas broke out between two factions which saw airport security having to step in to break up the fight.

About 50 supporters of the chosen PKR candidate Ansari Abdullah, a party supreme council member, and Sabah PKR chief Ahmad Thamrin Jaini traded insults.

Thamrin’s supporters claimed that he was a better choice over Ansari who is seen as an outsider from Tuaran in the west coast.

Sandakan airport security officer Joe Meyer confirmed the incident which lasted about five minutes around 8.20pm.

He said that airport security pulled the feuding groups apart and they dispersed.

Earlier on Sunday, nearly half of the 1,000-strong crowd walked out of the Hakka Community Hall when Anwar announced Ansari’s name.

  3. PR, don't bring your bad culture to Sabah, "Reformasi doesn't make any sense to me" just look at Sabah and its problems which are different from West Malaysia, its politics.

    Your arrogance to get hold of Sabah is pure federalism control "sama sama dengan BN" so in order to save Sabah, please withdraw from the contest and support our local party.

  9. ANALISAH DI BATU SAPT;

    MELAYU - Terbahagi 4

    1.Penyokong Safe Apdal mahu Musa (Pengarah P/Raya)tumbang. Mereka mahu Vaccune Cleaner ini diterjunkan ke laut macam Ansari yang disepak oleh kuasa Ajaib hari ini.

    2.Penyokong Tamrin mahu Ansari kalah. Macam mana mao undi kalau mereka ditumbuk ole orang-orang Ansari.

    3.Karim Gani berkempen mereka yang simpati dengan USNO supaya tidak mengundi BN.

    4.Orang Melayui dalam PBS marah (tunjuk Perasaan) kerana mereka mahu calon Lelaki/Melayu dicalonkan. Mereka tinggal dikawasan jauh terpencil di pulau-pulau. Dulu YB lelaki pun tidak melawat mereka ini kah lagi nanti YB perempuan.

    CINA:

    Jika dilihat trend pengundi cina sejak dari PRU 12, Hulu Langat hinggalah ke Sibu majoriti mereka menolak BN.

    Datuk Nahalan berkerja keras untuk SAPP dikawasan Melayu. Majoriti Melayu yang mahu protes diatas akan memangkah calon SAPP.
