KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice-president Thien Fui Yun is believed to be among the front-runners in the race to be the BN candidate in the Nov 4 Batu Sapi parliamentary by-election.
The ex-Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, along with several back-up candidates, was picked by PBS. The party is awaiting Chief Minister and State BN chairman Musa Aman's thumbs up.
Party president Joseph Pairin Kitingan said that he would be seeking an endorsement for their choices through consensus of his partners in the state BN when they meet soon.
He acknowledged that Thien was among those considered as a candidate for the seat following the death of incumbent Edmund Chong Ket Wah in a road accident on Oct 9.
